Advocates for Language Learning
2012 - 2013 School Year!
What is ALLEM?
We raise the funds to pay 100% of the salaries for our Adjuncts
(Native Language Support Providers) in every classroom at El Marino Language School.
To help support language learning, we also provide cultural enrichment classes
to our students, such as Flamenco Dancing and Taiko Drumming.
What are Adjuncts?
Adjuncts are native Spanish or Japanese support providers who work side by side with your child (and teacher) in the classroom to foster language acquisition.
Who runs ALLEM ?
We are a nonprofit organization run by El Marino Parent Volunteers.
How Can I Help?
Sending us your pledge is the preferred method of support.
You can also become a board member and/or help with our many events,
such as Bingo Night, Family Dances, The Silent Auction, Children’s Day, and more!)
Why Do You Need My Financial Support?
Because we do not receive funding from anyone else. We depend solely on your generosity to keep our adjuncts in the classrooms.
What Happens if We Don't Support ALLEM?
We would have to cut back on the hours and time adjuncts spend in the classrooms. Your child would then not have the benefit of extra language modeling in the target languange (Spanish or Japanese).
GREAT! WHERE DO I SIGN UP?!
Please consider supporting ALLEM at one of the levels listed on our pledge sheet.
Your financial support is 100% tax-deductible and 200% appreciated!
