Have you ever wondered about the bronze sculpture of two children holding the world in front of El Marino? Titled Language Opens The World To Us, it was designed by Carol Bardin and her father Milton Michaelson. Carol is the mother of two former students Tony and Andrea Bardin. The sculpture was originally dedicated in March 9,1997 to all language immersion students.

Andrea Bardin-Schainen (daughter and current parent of an immersion student at La Ballona) and her family are offering to match any funds donated towards the creation and installation of a new plaque for the sculpture.

There will be a re-dedication of the sculpture at the 40th Anniversary Reunion Celebration on Sunday, May 15th.

Any donations are greatly appreciated and can be dropped off in the ALLEM black box in the office. (Checks should be made out to ALLEM.) No amount is too small!
