Let Learning Thrive
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to provide every classroom at El Marino Language School with native-speaking Target Language Support Providers (TLSPs), facilitating individualized attention to our students and enriching language learning experiences.
El Marino Language School is a public elementary school in CCUSD that offers language immersion programs in Spanish and Japanese. The goal of these programs is for students to master grade-level content while learning to speak, understand, read and write in both English and the respective target language.

Our Programs
Funding Our TLSPs
Funded by ALLEM since 1992, our TLSPs are invaluable to our language immersion classrooms. Together with our community, ALLEM raises money to pay salaries, tax obligations, workers’ compensation and payroll expenses.
After School Enrichment
We partner with our staff and local community to develop culturally rich after school programs, including Japanese and Latin music, art, martial arts, dance and cooking.
Community Events
Our events include our spring Glitter Ball—a music-filled night of family fun, and our annual Parent Night. Details about our events are posted on the Dolphin Splash
Our Leadership Team

Sehnita has a daughter in 4th grade, and her son, an El Marino alum, has continued to AP Spanish at CCHS. Sehnita believes that TLSPs have been critical to her kids' immersion learning and are invaluable partners in the El Marino community with the care, patience, and dedication they give to students. That is why it was important for her to join the ALLEM board to ensure ongoing support our TLSPs, who are critical to our immersion program.
Sehnita is an Emmy-nominated television producer and experienced strategic communications and marketing advisor. In addition to leading ALLEM, she proudly serves on the board of the Culver City Arts Foundation and is a Den Leader/Assistant Cubmaster with Culver Cub Scout Pack 79.

Andie loves helping others near and far, and she is excited to serve ALLEM as the VP of Fundraising. Her daughter learns Japanese at El Marino and thoroughly enjoys knowing more than her parents, correcting their pronunciation and quizzing them on Kanji around the clock.
Andie is a repeat room parent and loves supporting El Marino's superstar teachers and staff.
Andie works in real estate investments and enjoys live music, hiking, skiing and travel.

Julie’s happiest when she’s outdoors, lending a hand, or exploring wildlife with her two adventurous kids in the JIP program. Her family’s big on languages—after living in Spanish-speaking countries and Japan, she’s now brushing up on her Japanese alongside her children.
With a background in finance and higher ed, Julie joined ALLEM to give back and stay connected to the El Marino community.

Tamara loves being involved with the community. All three of her daughters are in El Marino's SIP program. She is a room parent, she volunteers with the school's "Drop Zone," and she's the parent representative on the school's MTSS team.
Tamara is an editor, author, and journalist who has spent many years learning and loving stories from communities all across the country. She is learning Spanish (but her kids are learning faster).
