


Japanese Chorus (Closed for Spring)
El Marino Japanese Chorus was founded in the Fall of 2019 to give all students a fun and moving musical experience by singing together and achieving a goal together. Our goals are to cultivate the full potential within each child, introduce beautiful and fun Japanese songs, and build each student’s skills and confidence through encouraging and creative rehearsals and performances. It is an excellent opportunity to learn Japanese. No Japanese speaking ability necessary.
Open to all Current and Former El Marino students – 2nd grade and up. New Students: Please come for tryouts (up to 2 times) before signing up
Director: Aiko Fukushima (Tokyo Gakugei University – Music Education; Berklee College of Music – Film & Jazz Composition)
Accompanist: Yukiko Nishimura (Tokyo University of the Arts – Composition)
SPRING TERM REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.
Outstanding Winter/Spring term balances (enrolled in January) may be paid HERE.
TIME: Thursdays
– 2nd & 3rd graders: 3:30-4:15pm (may stay until 4:45 if they can focus for longer time and want to work on challenging songs)
– 4th graders & up: 3:30-4:45pm
TERM: Jan 16 to June 5 (no class Jan 30)
